Found out that GE is taking a look at selling the Appliance business... which I am a part of.
I hear that sometimes they do this kind of thing to see what people would pay for the business, but don't actually sell.

When I think GE, I think appliances. Now you're saying they might stop that. Similarly, when I think Boeing, I think airplanes. In the last number of years, Boeing has been building less and less of 'their' airplanes, contracting it out. Now with the 787 they just want to snap a half dozen pieces together and collect all the profit. Kinda disheartening when companies lose sight of their origins.
There must be a lot of uncertainty around there right now. People get pretty paranoid when corporations do this.
I don't get why GE would sever that business. Maybe the appliances branch is out of "ecomagination" and GE is putting more of its chips in green tech.
Loos like LG or Haier may buy
